Sustainable Polymer Engineering Research

Join us for cutting edge research in sustainable materials sponsored by the National Science Foundation! Teachers will work with faculty and student researchers in the School of Polymer Science and Engineering in efforts focused on addressing challenges in polymer science engineering, including

Water Quality Waste Reduction Alternative Energy

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engage in one week (full time) of laboratory research and lesson development

  • Develop classroom activities/laboratory experiments/ curriculum based on summer research

  • Implement activities from the program in the Fall semester

  • Increase student awareness of current sustainability issues

Benefits

  • $750 summer stipend to attend

  • up to $750 avaliable in stipends for Science Saturday, Fall Classroom Visit & Class USM field trip

  • $500 for classroom supplies
